Robert B. Weintraub is Of Counsel to the firm. His practice primarily encompasses complex civil litigation including securities (both private and class actions), broker-dealer litigation and arbitrations, mutual fund actions, consumer protection and variable annuity insurance cases, antitrust (involving private parties, the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission), and corporate breach of contract disputes. He has counseled corporations on contract negotiation and antitrust matters, and provided antitrust advice on mergers to the arbitrage departments of Wall Street firms.

Mr. Weintraub also served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of a broker-dealer investment bank, which is a member of the NYSE, the NASD and other principal exchanges. He has served as an arbitrator for the NYSE and the NASD and as a mediator for the federal District Court in New York.

His publications include “Entering the Uncharted Waters of Oz: FAS 157 Pulls Back the Curtain on the Valuation of Asset-Backed Securities,” Bloomberg Law Reports, Securities Law (April 7, 2008) and contributing the “Celler-Kefauver Act of 1950” to The Legislative History of the Federal Antitrust Laws and Related Statutes (E. Kintner, ed., 1980).

He is admitted to the Bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia. As a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, he has served on its Securities Regulation Committee and Council on International Affairs.

Mr. Weintraub graduated cum laude from Syracuse University and from Georgetown University Law Center in 1977. He was a member of the Executive Board and an Articles Editor of Georgetown’s international law journal, Law and Policy in International Business.
