Michael Jaffe is a partner of the firm. Mr. Jaffe's experience primarily involves complex civil and class action litigation. Mr. Jaffe has particular expertise in class action litigation brought on behalf of employees under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), as well as class action and derivative litigation brought on behalf of public shareholders under federal and state securities laws.
From 2001-2006, Mr. Jaffe served as an adjunct professor at the Law School of the City University of New York, Queens College. He has also engaged in various pro bono activities during his career, including work on political asylum cases for the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights.
Mr. Jaffe was admitted to the Bar of the State of California in 1988 and to the Bar of the State of New York in 1989. He is also admitted to practice in U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York. Additionally, he acted as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Thelton E. Henderson, Northern District of California from 1986‑1987.
Mr. Jaffe is a graduate of Hastings College of the Law, Class of 1987, where he served as a student teaching assistant for two years, and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley (B.S., Highest Honors), Class of 1982.
