ELI D. GREENBERG is a partner of the firm and heads its healthcare practice.

Mr. Greenberg provides corporate counsel services to healthcare provider systems, including nursing homes, managed care providers, and assisted living facilities. Specific services include representing institutions in the issuance of tax-exempt bonds, drafting and implementing corporate compliance plans, structuring joint ventures, representing principals in the sale and purchase of facilities and advising on regulatory matters.

In addition, Mr. Greenberg represents individual physicians in the formation and dissolution of practice partnerships, structuring new ventures, employment agreements, and compliance with federal and state anti-kickback and self-referral prohibitions.

Mr. Greenberg also represents businesses on general corporate matters, joint ventures, employment agreements, and shareholder agreements. He advises principals in the purchase and sale of businesses.

He represents numerous not-for-profit charities such as schools, advocacy groups, healthcare providers, private foundations, social services organizations, publishers, and religious organizations. Services include general corporate matters, obtaining tax-exempt status, conflicts of interest issues, dissolutions and complying with federal and state requirements for tax-exempt organizations.

Mr. Greenberg has been a lecturer at New York University and has made presentations to a wide array of audiences, including events sponsored by the American Healthcare Association and the New York Association for Homes and Services for the Aging. A member of the boards of numerous community organizations, Mr. Greenberg is extensively involved in pro-bono matters.

He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1985.

Mr. Greenberg, a magna cum laude graduate of New York University, was a University Scholar and a recipient of the Founders’ Day Award. He was also elected to the honorary fraternity Beta Gamma Sigma. In 1984, he earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law.
